NB010 - DEADLY VENOM WEAPON

Making his debut NoBias release, Soeneido presents a meditation on ninjitsu meets old school jungle. Deadly Venom Weapon is a mental-spiritual training: the dark arts of shurikens and grappling hooks combines with the slicing techniques of amen breaks and rave stabs. The 6 track EP is crafted from samples derived from various 1980’s ninja martial films and draws upon the lo-fidelity, mystical and contemplative nature inherent in them.

This EP consists of four full length tunes and two interludes. It starts off with 'Ninja Empire Supreme': an homage to late 90’s style drum n bass inspired by the earlier works of Photek and Source Direct. Vocal samples are used to portray a kind of training exercise in the stealth arts. It is an ominous and foreboding tune made from minimal breaks and haunting atmospheres.

The second full length track, Eternal Mind takes a more metaphysical approach and coaxes the listener to venture inward and walk in the spirit of the Eternal Mind. It unleashes a chaos of sliding amen breaks and a heavy stepping 808 sub bass. This track is a death blow to all sworn mortal enemies.

New Moon is a bit more whimsical and takes a colorful detour from the other more darker tracks. Using a laughing sample from Sachi’s character in Labyrinthos and bell jingles from her cat - this tune keeps to the night and mystery themes - but more from the perspective of a child in rural Japan. It's like wandering around in the dark night of the new moon, mischievously.

Lastly the featured track Deadly Venom Weapon jumps back in with a breakbeat-hardcore sound. Inspired the releases of early Formation and Limited Edition Records of the 92-94 era. More ninja movie samples used like stab chords to give a feeling of a final battle scene.
